What We’ve Accomplished Together

Tomsey Engineering & Services International Ltd successfully facilitated the Constructability Review Workshop for the Oben NAG Field Late-Life LP Compression Project, hosted by Seplat Energy Plc with participation from key project stakeholders including NNPC E&P Limited and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

The workshop provided a structured platform to evaluate the project design from a construction perspective and identify potential challenges before the commencement of full-scale construction. As the independent facilitator, Tomsey guided the technical review sessions, bringing together multidisciplinary expertise to assess construction feasibility, execution requirements and opportunities for design optimization.

“During the workshop, stakeholders assessed the proposed design for construction feasibility and execution efficiency, while identifying potential construction risks, constraints and opportunities for optimization. The review also considered factors that could influence safety, quality, schedule and cost performance during project execution.”

Project Overview

Constructability is an important consideration in the development of major Oil & Gas projects, helping ensure that engineering designs can be safely, efficiently and practically executed in the field.

For the Oben NAG Field Late-Life LP Compression Project, the review considered potential construction risks, site and operational constraints, execution requirements and areas where the design could be optimized. Particular attention was given to factors that could affect safety, quality, schedule and cost performance during construction.

As a late-life field development, the project may involve interfaces with existing facilities and operational infrastructure. Reviewing these considerations during the design stage provides an opportunity to identify challenges early and incorporate practical solutions before construction begins.
