Tomsey Engineering & Services International Ltd commenced the development of an Operations Safety Case for Belemaoil Producing Limited’s facilities in OML 55, covering the Robertkiri, Idama, Jokka and Inda offshore production facilities.
As part of the assignment, the Tomsey team conducted a field visit and facility inspection across the relevant offshore locations. The assessment provided an opportunity to understand the existing facility configurations, operating conditions, equipment and safety arrangements as part of the broader Safety Case development process.

Project Overview
The OML 55 asset comprises a combination of shallow offshore and swamp production facilities supporting oil and gas operations in the Niger Delta. The Operations Safety Case development was undertaken to establish a structured assessment of the facilities’ operational hazards, safety controls and risk management arrangements.
During the field inspection, Tomsey assessed the condition and functionality of installed equipment, reviewed operational safety arrangements and examined the practical implementation of relevant HSE procedures and the facility’s HSE management requirements.
The assignment forms part of a broader process safety and loss prevention approach, with the findings from the facility assessment providing important input into the development of the Operations Safety Case and subsequent formal safety assessment activities.
